Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc is a green-skinned grape variety that originates from the Bordeaux region of France. The grape most likely gets its name from the French words sauvage and blanc due to its early origins as an indigenous grape in South West France. It is possibly a descendant of Savagnin.
Australia has a long history with this fresh Crisp style of white wine, often more prevalent in the cooler end of Wine regions. Adelaide Hills and Moorabool Valley has long been the highlight regions of this Grape.
Aussie Sauvignon Blanc is quite different stylistically than the Green acidic Marlborough NZ white, and the Subtle French Wines.
