Tempranillo
Tempranillo is one of the worlds most interesting Grape Varietals. With it’s heritage spread around the world but popularized in Spain. The grape enjoys warmer climates and provides a stunning color and very juicy rustic flavor. Tempranillo is a great food wine and matches really well with Small tapas plates, red sauce pasta’s and Mexican food.
We would normally class this as a full bodied Red wine with old world notes and earthy undertones.
Australia has a growing foundation of “Temp” as we call it. Grown in the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale, the Mediterranean climates of these regions works fabulously with this varietal.
Temp can also be a great grape to blend , not often as a base , but added for it’s unique earthy tones.
