Handcrafted Chardonnay from our vineyard, planted at high altitude above Meadows in the Adelaide Hills. Hand-picked and gently whole-bunch pressed to retain natural flavour and complexity. The wine was left on lees for partial Malo-lactic fermentation and aged in French oak for seven months. Citrus and stone fruit characters combine with struck flint, toasty complexity and a highly textured, beautifully soft mouth-feel.
Nova Vita Adelaide Hills Chardonnay – 95 Points – Normally $30
The 2015 Nova Vita Chardonnay displays fragrant lemon zest and fresh orange aromas with a hint of vanilla and brioche. The palate is a mix of citrus (in particular lime), white stone fruits and raw almonds with a slightly creamy texture. Barrel fermentation has added some complexity and textural richness, which is balanced by crisp natural acidity

“Vintage 2015 in the Yarra Valley proved to be one of the strongest in the past 25 years. We significantly increased our fruit intake to twenty two different vineyards across all sub-regions of the Valley. Spring was mild, allowing excellent fruit set and quality and vintage was cool and dry with perfect ripening and crop levels 10-20% above the average. The remarkable varietal flavors with balanced natural acidity were evident across all vineyard sites and will see the 2015 vintage as a benchmark year in the Yarra”.
